Did you say blind?

By Vladimir Huber

While I open my hands,
you close yours,
and the confused, scared face
keeps on growing in you,
after long times of closed people
or facing the back of them.

Can’t anybody recognize
a clean, honest hand
opened to give?
Can’t anybody be only half-blind,
to see that not everybody
is searching for profit’s sake?
Can’t anybody realize that,
happiness and laughter are healthy
when they are accepted as that?

And then we say,
«all those poor blind people.»
